King Pins
King Pins is a small scale real-time strategy game.
I was inspired by the Age of Empires series! Except in this game, you can play local multiplayer with controllers.
Collect resources and expand your territory while defending your main unit: the king!
If your king dies, you lose!
Features
- ~1 hour Campaign: a short story captured in challenging levels that you will teach you how to play the game
- 4 different civilizations, each play very differently!
- then play versus match with up to 4 players locally
- or, face off against computer controlled AI which you can set to 3 different difficulties. (or watch them fight each other instead!)
- random generated maps, with each civilization having a multitude of buildings, unit and upgrades, make for endless possibilities!
Controls
Controller:
- A - select/build/attack
- B - cancel
- Y - jump to selected unit
- Left/Right triggers - cycle through units
- Start - pause
Keyboard:
- Space - select/build/attack
- Esc - cancel
- Y - jump to selected unit
- Tab - cycle through units
- Enter - pause

It says it's a virus
Well, I tried launching through steam, then got the steam key and launched it in big screen mode and the controller still doesn't do anything with the game. I can use the controller to move around the steam interface, but once the game starts, I have to switch to keyboard. Bummer!
what kind of controller are you using? and is it windows or mac?
I am having this same problem on Mac with Switch Pro Controller and Joy-Cons.

super fun but keeps crashing on the level with the 2 goblin kings (finished it twice) and it doesn't unlock the next one.

i think mac doesn’t have built in support for xbox controllers. so they normally don’t work unless you download some kind of driver or third party app. you can probably find something on the internet!
try launching the game via Steam if you have it - Steam Big Picture mode can (in some circumstances, when the planets and the stars align in just the right way) act as a driver for your controller(s)
Game is awesome. I am wondering do i need to buy it once more when it'll be released on steam? Btw i think this game is perfect for nintendo switch it would be a banger on this console.

I just bought the game and seems like I can't play, when game starts goes directly into pause and and no way I can get out of there without going back and getting paused again.

are you on windows or mac? and did you have a controlller plugged in?
ah nvm i found the problem. i believe it's only on mac, however, the earliest i can make a new mac build with the fix would be somewhere tomorrow! it also should work if you plug in a controller.
yep it's with mac using keyboard, I've seen there's new build and probably related to that. Thanks for the fast reply ;)
2 player with single key board ?
Any guide to get an xbox controller working with this on a Macbook Pro? The Mac is definitely connecting to the controller via bluetooth, and I've also tried with USB, but it doesn't work in the game.
Will there be an online multiplayer?

I’m glad you like it :D only the elves and undead can heal units. You can’t repair buildings!

I'm getting an Unable to find game error on macosx :(
Copy it to your Applications folder and it works.
copied it into the Applications folder and still getting the message "
“King Pins” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software."
try right-clicking on the app and then selecting "open" from the drop down menu

windows doesn’t have native drivers for ps4 controllers, i think because of the console rivalry between Sony and Microsoft, but you can find third party applications online that can get them to work.
